Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is an acute respiratory disease involving blood-gas barrier dysfunction. ARDS is primarily characterized by pulmonary edema caused by hyperpermeability of the vascular endothelium and alveolar epithelium.
The article titled “Identification of a novel role for TL1A/DR3 deficiency in acute respiratory distress syndrome that exacerbates alveolar epithelial disruption “, which was published in Respiratory Research illustrates the potential ARDS research value of TL1A/DR3 as a key signaling pathway protecting the alveolar epithelial barrier.
