Exciting news in the world of genomics!
“A chromosome-level genome assembly of yellow stem borer (Scirpophaga incertulas)” published in Scientific Data is a new addition in our case studies.
Utilizing 94X PacBio HiFi data and 55X Hi-C data, a high-quality chromosome-level genome of the yellow stem borer has been constructed. Comparative genomic analysis with 17 other insect species revealed a high degree of genome synteny with the rice stem borer, indicating a differentiation approximately 72.65 million years ago.
The analysis of gene family expansion and contraction uncovered 860 significantly expanded gene families, particularly enriched in defense responses and biological stimulus pathways, crucial for enhancing the ecological adaptability and insecticide resistance of the yellow stem borer.
Stay tuned for more groundbreaking research from BMKGENE!
