CircRNA

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are non-coding RNAs that form circular structures and have multiple regulatory roles, including competing with miRNA for target genes and protein binding. The BMKCloud circRNA pipeline is designed for the analysis of rRNA depleted libraries with a well-annotated and high quality reference genome. The analysis starts with read trimming and quality control, followed by read alignment to the reference genome and prediction of novel circRNAs, coupled with identification of known circRNAs from databases. The corresponding miRNA targets and circRNA hosts are subsequently identified. Differential expression analysis reveals differentially expressed circRNAs, and the corresponding hosts are functionally annotated to extract enriched biological functions.
